Raleigh Storefront Closing

After nearly 6 wonderful years in our bright indoor jungle at 208 S. Wilmington Street, we will be closing our Raleigh location on December 24. We’ve reached a decision that, while difficult, is filled with gratitude and optimism.

Reflecting on the little jungle in Raleigh we cultivated, we can't help but feel an immense sense of pride. Our team has been the heartbeat of this space, passionately assisting our customers in growing their green thumbs, finding the perfect gifts, and sharing their passion for plant knowledge — learning from you all along the way. To our loyal customers, your commitment has been a source of joy for us.

When The ZEN Succulent Raleigh opened its doors in 2018, our mission was to create a beautiful space to share our love of plants  — an extension of our Durham shop, a place that felt welcoming with easy going greenery, thoughtful gifts, and helpful staff to help you pick out your new favorite plant pal. Just like our flagship location, in Raleigh, we connected with a vibrant plant-loving community, forging relationships that will endure beyond the physical shop, including over 4,667 terrariums made in the space and even witnessing an engagement in our indoor jungle! Truly, wow!

Despite facing the challenges of the toughest pandemic years, our sales in Raleigh experienced a big dip, and despite our best efforts, we couldn't bring them back to pre-pandemic levels. On a personal note, my husband and I have been blessed to grow our family with two little boys, and this transition will allow me better nurture my family (and myself) while focusing on one location.

Looking ahead, our vision is rooted in embracing a "new era" of retail. The decision to close the Raleigh store allows us to deepen our focus on our Durham shop and introduce exciting pop-up terrarium bar experiences and workshops, meeting you where you are. This strategic shift reflects our anticipation of what retail is poised to become in the future.

To connect with more of you plant lovers out there, we've launched our new website at thezensucculent.com, featuring over 100+ different plants available for easy shipment all over the US. Check us out as we're busy shipping greenery and adding plants daily (and can even get you your plants before the holidays if ordered by the 16th). We're continuing to add to our plant community by sharing our knowledge virtually too with our weekly plant care & greenery design blog “From the Potting Shed” at theZenSucculent.com/blog.

You can still find us flourishing in Durham at 123 Market Street, Suite B, open for business and rooting for fellow small businesses in the area. Let's keep them thriving too but shopping small & sharing often.

We would love for you to drop by Raleigh in the upcoming weeks to bid our team farewell, discover some plants and sustainable goodies, and more. Our doors in Raleigh will be open on Fridays through Sundays until December 24th.
