The Best Tools for Indoor Gardening

We’re halfway through February and if you’re like us…that means Spring is (finally) feeling seriously close. However, it’s still technically winter till March 20th, so we’re bound to have a few more especially cold days before the warm weather really returns.

With that said, gardening has been especially INDOORS the past several months, and even once the weather is nice again…indoor gardening is always a joy. Take a look at some of our favorite tools to have on hand when tending to plants inside.

The Best Tools for Indoor Gardening:

Hand Pruner

A hand pruner is arguably the most essential tool for your indoor plants. If they’re being taken care of well…they’re going to be GROWING, and will thus need to be pruned, much like we go to get haircuts!

There’s a variety of hand pruners on the market, but this one is well made and built to last.

Soil Probe

When you’re working with indoor plants, the soil is completely under your jurisdiction. There’s no rain water or other ways the soil material will change, other than what you add or take away. We love to have a soil probe on hand to ensure moisture levels are maintained.

Hand Trowel

A hand trowel is just a fancy name for a small shovel. As you can imagine, these are really helpful to have around for your indoor gardening, because otherwise your hands are getting very dirty! They come in different shapes and sizes, and can also be used for breaking up soil.

Mister Bottle

For small plants and large, we LOVE having an amber mister bottle around (purchase ours here). Especially if you have indoor air plants like these, a mister is the perfect tool for your delicate indoor plants.

Label Maker

Perhaps the least obvious on our list is a label maker! While seemingly unrelated to gardening…never doubt the power that a label maker can have for your indoor gardening! You can keep your seeds organized with which one is in which pot, how often to water, etc.. This tool takes away all the guesswork.
