The Best Plants for a Bathroom

Living plants make bathrooms more pleasant places for users, improving the decor and air quality alike! But because of the difficult climate of bathrooms (read: humidity, varying temps, and typically low-light) often times plants are overlooked for the room.

We’re here to change that!

Bathrooms can be a GREAT place for plants…they just need to be the right plants. Even if you’re a beginner plant parent, these plants will thrive in your low-light and varying temperature rooms.

These are some of the best plants for your bathroom:

Silver Lace Fern - SHOP IT HERE

This fern loves the damp conditions of the bathroom, so it’s perfect if you love a really steamy shower! The one caveat for having it in the bathroom, though, is that the silver lace fern does need bright light. Try this one out in the bathroom if you’ve got a decent sized window!

Neon Pothos - SHOP IT HERE

Unlike the silver lace fern, the neon pothos with thrive in low light conditions, so it should be just fine in a bathroom without a window. It’s really easy to care for, too, so it’s great for beginners. How pretty would the trailing leaves be over a bathroom sink?!

Calethea Plant - SHOP IT HERE

If you have a bit larger bathroom, this plant can really add some natural beauty. It thrives in medium to low light and will appreciate a humid environment. Mist its leaves to make it extra happy!

Air Plants - SHOP THEM HERE

Air plants are the most low maintenance bathroom plant ever…you barely (if ever!) need to water them! Because they soak up moisture from the air, you’re essentially giving them LIFE every time you take a shower. If you have a small space, we love these little stands that can hold them on a shelf above the bath or on the sink.

These are just a few of our favorite plants for the bathroom. Do you keep any plants in your bathroom? Tag us on IG @thezensucculent. We want to see!
