Self Care Tips for You & Your Plants

At this point in the year, it’s time for a little check-up…for both you AND your plants!

The days are getting shorter and the temps are getting cooler. It’s common to hear tips about drinking adequate amounts of water and getting your vitamin C and we couldn’t help but think that there were quite a few similarities between human care, and plant care! Here are a few tongue-in-cheek examples of what we mean:

Change Your Outfit to Suit the Season

Of course you don’t necessarily need new clothes when the seasons change, but it’s usually a signal that the air is getting colder. And just like we change our outfits, it’s good for plants to get put in a new planter once in awhile too. All of their summer growth might have them wanting a new spot to call home.

Prioritize Adequate Nutrients

Your diet should vary with the seasons. The same can be true for your favorite plants. While they’ll probably be OK without switching up the soil, sometimes a change can be good for them!

Ensure Proper Hydration

Just like people, plants dry out really easily. It’s great to have a mister-bottle handy. Especially when the seasons are changing, the air gets a lot more dry and normal watering schedules can be less effective than they were in the summer.
