With Mother's Day fast approaching, we have been busy brainstorming gifts from the shop for the maternal figures in our lives. In talking with our friends, we noticed that each of our moms have different levels of skill and interest in plants - some who kill every plant in sight to one who grows orchids, like, professionally.
Looking around the shop, we were able to find something for each type of mom in our lives, even the ones who were known plant killers!
We thought we'd share our list of ideas with ya'll, in case you were stuck like we were. We grouped our ideas by "mom type". Keep reading, and see if you can find a gift for a mom on your Mother's Day gift list.
Queen of Green
Who she is: She's the woman whose house is full of beautiful plants, and none of them are fake.
What to gift her: Prayer plant. She'll love the beauty of this popular houseplant, and the challenge of taking care of it. Not recommended for beginners, prayer plants are notorious for their unrelenting humidity and watering needs.
Might also enjoy: A Zen Succulent workshop. Most likely, plants aren't the only area she shines. Maybe she's a domestic goddess, super crafty or just plain good with her hands. Either way, check out our list of classes and get signed up. This is an activity that you can also do with her (don't worry, we have wine).
Learning As She Goes
Who she is: She has a growing collection of small plants (and odds are most of them have names).
Might also enjoy: Plant accessories. It is likely that she's reached a point in her growing collection that plant accessories are a must. Consider gifting her a new watering can, mister or even some plant food.
Who she is: She is the mom who does "all of the things".
What to gift her: Air plants. These little guys are such a cute gift, and they require very little maintenance. Pair it with a cute dish she can put in her workspace, and every time she sees it, she'll think of how much you love her.
Might also enjoy: A terrarium. Another cute, low maintenance gift that will remind her of you. Just be aware that succulents require more light than air plants and will need a sunny spot to live.
Bless Her Heart
Who she is: She tries, but her plants usually end up dead.
What to gift her: A heart leaf philodendron. These tropical houseplants require very little and will thrive in most conditions, as long as you avoid direct sunlight.
Might also enjoy: A snake plant, also known as mother-in-law's-tongue. Another plant that thrives on neglect, snake plants are quite difficult to kill. Bonus points if you get one for your mother-in-law.
Danger to Herself and Others
Who she is: She has killed every plant that she has ever taken care of.
